Map
The maps show the location of the COSMOS-UK site.
Dynamic land cover map (LCM) map layers and OS map layers are available under the layers button (top right of map). Three recent LCM layers have been chosen so you can compare the change over the years. Please be aware that the LCM layers may take a few moments to load. A question mark button will appear at the top left of the map when an LCM layer is added. The question mark button contains the legend for each LCM layer and an opacity slider. The slider enables the transparency to be altered so multiple layers can be stacked and compared.
In addition to the Mapbox background maps (light, street and satellite layers), OS vector and raster maps are also available which tend to show more detail but are not available until you have zoomed in due to interoperability.
The second map on the page is the Ordnance Survey ‘Leisure map’. Due to differences in projection, this map cannot easily be added to the first map and is only available up until a certain zoom level.
The two zoom buttons allow you to zoom to the site or zoom out to the UK.
Time-series data
This tab is similar to the time-series data tab of the Data page but only shows the time-series graphs specific to that site. The time period and date range functionality works in the same way as the Data page.
The different tabs (summary, weather, soil moisture, soil temperature) group the corresponding graphs.
